City of Raleigh plans on spending $130,000,000 on transportation capital expenses in 2024, and $456,580,000 over the next 5 years.

It appears to only serve the immediate downtown area:
So this is definitely a very expensive project that seems to be geared at helping low income folks move about the downtown area. Ridership in Go Raleigh has been down significantly (over 20%) since the pandemic. So it remains to be seen if this project will make a difference commiserate with it’s cost.
