The City is widening Barwell Road from Rock Quarry Road to Berkeley Lake Road.
Per the city:
“We want Barwell Road to be safe, convenient, and comfortable for all modes of transportation. We call this a Complete Street.
Improvements to the road include:
Realignment of the Pearl Road Intersection.
Designated Two-Way Left Turn Lanes;
Sidewalks;
Multi-Use-Path;
Transit Improvements; and realignment of pearl road intersection.”
The construction has not started on the project though the first design public meeting was December 2019, and the city council was presented the project in Fall of 2020.
The project was budgeted for $10.8mm, but the new budget with less scope of work is now $14.8mm.
